Hello everyone,

I’m using Azure API Management in various environments, including the Self-Hosted Gateway (SHGW).

As of now, the documentation of the new MCP Server functionality (Model Context Protocol) does not have any information, if the functionality will be available for Self-Hosted Gateways as well.

I’m specifically wondering:

  • Will the MCP Server functionality work with Self-Hosted Gateway?
  • If no: Are there any plans or a roadmap to support MCP Server in the Self-Hosted Gateway in the future?
  • If yes: Is there a timeline or preview program already announced?

I would appreciate any information or feedback.

Best regards,

Tim Menze

    Hello Menze, Tim •,
As you've rightly pointed out, there is currently no additional public documentation or confirmed roadmap updates beyond what’s already published.

    As of now:

MCP Server is not supported in Self-Hosted Gateways, and

There is no official announcement or preview program indicating future support for SHGW.
