Thank you for reaching out. Please find the answer below.

1.Restart Your Chromebook: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix hardware recognition issues. Make sure to shut down completely and turn it back on, restart can often fix temporary glitches. Kindly find the link : https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/2766492?hl=en

2.Check for Chrome OS Updates: Go to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for updates and install any available updates.

3.Hardware Check: Ensure that there’s no debris or anything on the touchscreen that may prevent it from registering touches correctly. Clean it gently with a soft cloth.
     1. Turn off your Chromebook.
    2. Press and hold Refresh + Power for 10 seconds.
3.Release both keys and turn the Chromebook back on.

4.Check if Touchscreen is Disabled: Some school administrators disable touchscreen features. If you're using a managed device, your school’s IT admin might have turned it off remotely.

5.Test in Guest Mode: Try logging in as a Guest. This can help determine if there’s an issue with your user profile settings.

6.Factory Reset: As a last resort, consider doing a factory reset. This will erase everything, so make sure you back up any important data first. You can reset it via Settings > Advanced > Reset settings > Powerwash.

NOTE: Since this is a school-managed Chromebook, it’s possible that the touchscreen has been disabled by your school’s IT department or there’s a hardware issue. I recommend:

    • Contacting your school’s IT support team and letting them know the issue.
    • Mention that other Chromebooks have working touchscreens and that you’ve already tried the basic troubleshooting steps.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it might be a hardware problem, and you might need to contact your school’s IT department for further assistance.

To help us provide a detailed response, could you answer these follow-up questions?

    • Have you noticed any specific error messages or behaviors when trying to use the touchscreen?
    • Is your Chromebook showing any signs of physical damage?
    • What model of Chromebook are you using?
    • Have you tried using an external mouse or keyboard to navigate, and does everything work fine otherwise?

If issue still persist after following all the steps, we’ll be happy to assist further if needed." Kindly mark the answer as accepted if the issue resolved".
