An application named Hearsay for Intune has been rebranded to Yext. Currently, the app still displays "Hearsay" on end users' devices, causing concerns among the Lines of Business. The goal is to update the application name in Intune to reflect the rebranding. Is it a straightforward process to change the app name in Intune, or are there complexities involved with app configuration that need to be considered?

    Hi Steve,

Rebranding an app in Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager) is possible, but whether it's straightforward depends on how the app was originally added and deployed (e.g., via Managed Google Play, VPP, LOB app, or Win32 app).

Could you give us more information?

In case If you uploaded a custom app (e.g., .msi, .intunewin, .apk, .ipa):

Go to: Intune Admin CenterAppsAll apps.

    Click on “Hearsay” app.

    Select Edit.

Change the App name to “Yext”.

    Save and republish if needed.

⚠️ Note: This only updates the name in the Company Portal, not on the device icon. The app must be recompiled or updated by the vendor with the new name for that.
