Performance issues with Adobe Lightroom Classic & Photoshop

I'm running into a lag in performance running Lightroom Classic and Photoshop especially on larger image files. My CPU is an i7 at 2600MHz with 10 cores. Adobe claims it's the GPU (Intel Iris Xe Graphics) as the main culprit. Is anyone else experiencing this and do you have any partial solutions to offer?
