Hello! I need to fill in a form for work and sign it/ add digital signature. The only help I've come across is shown on a laptop where there are more functions. I'm only on a phone and I cannot see anywhere I can insert a picture or draw etc in the Excel app. I can also use Google sheets but am equally clueless. Could anyone please advise? Thank you!

Hi! This will depend if you are able to edit it or not, if you are, in the top of the document view you will have a pencil with an A that you have to click to activate the edition mode, from there you will have a bottom panel, there you can look for the draw option or insert for pictures.
Thank you, I can type and it does give me the option to edit, but I cannot see the pencil. It says "clear, comment, fill, edit" but my only options appear to be typing. It's a really important work document as I need to sign it to be able to start the job ASAP. Do you know of any other similar programmes please that would allow me to add this? I have thought about printing it and signing it and scanning it, but I believe they want it back as the original xls file 😕 Thank you.
Will be great if you either share the file without including personal information or a screenshot, however, as this is a form, probably you don’t have the edit option available on the entire file, so you should print if you don’t see draw/insert options on the bottom left dropdown menu
Thank you so much. I decided to try and open it in the browser instead of the app. Switching to desktop mode allowed me to insert a picture of my signature, but it took up 4 boxes and would not adjust, hiding other necessary parts of the form. The app is fairly useless unless you're just wanting to read a file. The desktop mode doesn't seem very smooth with mobile compatibility. I will have to explain that I've done my best unless I can find a computer in the meantime. I really appreciate your help!
If you are able to insert the picture in the file, you should also be able to resize it to fill less spaces
It may be my phone itself perhaps. I have another document to fill in that I'm doing in Adobe and it's difficult to move the text box once I've tapped to create one without creating new ones each time I touch the screen. I can make the the Excel picture larger, but not smaller, and I've tried different size and shaped images. It would be something really useful to have in the app as it barely has any features. Desktop on a mobile is always difficult to work with. I may add some extra rows to accommodate the signature. It's incredibly frustrating. I managed to sign freehand in the Adobe app but the thinnest line they offer is still incredibly thick. I don't feel very professional with my documents right now! 😔
Unfortunately, because most of us don’t do this often, it can feel difficult as we simply haven’t developed the skill yet. I’ve had the same experience. The workspace on a phone screen is tiny, so using your finger can be awkward. If you plan to do this regularly, a stylus could make things much easier.
