Microsoft transferred subscription to a new directory and broke all RBAC assignments. Now owners have no privileges.

As per our understanding, the subscription was moved to a new Microsoft Entra ID tenant, and because of that, all RBAC roles—including Owner permissions—were removed. Now, no users, even the previous Owners, can access or manage the subscription.

The Global Administrator role applies to the Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) tenant, not directly to Azure subscriptions. In contrast, the Owner role is a Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) role specifically assigned at the subscription or resource level, and it's required to manage resources within a subscription.

When a subscription is moved from one tenant to another, all existing RBAC role assignments and custom roles are permanently removed from the source tenant and are not transferred to the new tenant.

In your case, you will need to contact the current subscription owner assigned to your account to regain access and manage the subscription according to your requirements.
