Cannot connect my app service (Front door) to root DNS

I have bought a custom DNS from GoDaddy (ledrms.com) and www setup was easy. I just had to set cname with www in GoDaddy website. But, configuring root domain (ledrms.com) itself is hard. I used my Front Door Service to set a Rule set to redirect root DNS to www, but it does not work. FYI, I have not added a custom domain to my App Service directly because I am afraid Front Door Service DNS and App Servie DNS might conflict. [www.ledrms.com] works fine.

Also, why can't I complete my support request? The Azure Portal does not let me make a support request which supports me via email anymore. The next button is blocked. Is that on purpose?

    Hello HighTech Ean

I understand that you're experiencing issues connecting your Azure Front Door to your root domain (ledrms.com). You’ve managed to set up a CNAME for www, but the root domain configuration is proving to be a challenge.

For the root domain (ledrms.com), it's not possible to add a CNAME record due to limitations. That's why you're unable to create the CNAME. Instead, you can create an alias if your DNS provider allows it, or you can transfer DNS management to Azure, which will handle apex mapping for you.

And also, for your root domain hosting and validation in the front door please follow the below public document:

Onboard a root or apex domain to Azure Front Door

For root domain validation, only a TXT record is needed. Once you add the TXT record to your root domain's DNS zone, the domain validation process will begin. Please allow up to 20 minutes for the validation to complete.

Regarding the Azure portal issue with support requests, this may be related to the portal itself. There can sometimes be limitations depending on your subscription type or the status of your service, which might block you from submitting requests. And also let me know which support plan you have.

Hope the above answer helps! Please let us know do you have any further queries.
