trusted certificate

I have installed sql server from Microsoft but when I try to connect the Management Studio I get an error message saying that my certificate is not from a trusted source. I do not understand - is it saying that Microsoft doesn't trust itself? I'm confused!

    Hi Christopher,

    try to select "Optional" for Encrypt option and check the "Trust server certificate" checkbox.
