Windows 10 Pro...

I'm attempting to install an *.msix package but after the app is downloaded the *.msix icon is blank or unfilled in Windows Explorer. I've rebooted. Nothing new...

Here's what I see after I double-click on the *.msix icon...

Did you download from here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/msix/packaging-tool/tool-overview or the MS Store.

I just downloaded on W10 and W11 from the store, followed the directions to install.

Thanks for the update and input!

I followed your suggestions. I was able to get into the *.msix package but, after saving the generated output in the Downloads/MSIX folder, I wasn't able to determine where to go from that point. That is, the processing of the *.msix app package generated further files in the MSIX folder but didn't allow me to make any progress.

It seems that the very core of the MSIX set of files in W10 isn't there. Hence, there's no recognition of the MSIX app nor what to do with the set of files generated by my MSIX app (I didn't develop the app, just downloaded it).

    Additional thoughts?

    Tx

I wasn't able to determine where to go from that point.

Double click on MSIX to install it, or use Windows store and follow the instructions to install.

    Try using this link, https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9n5lw3jbcxkf?hl=en-GB&gl=NZ

using the link in my above post do you see this and does it say install. Once installed, use search, type MSIX and hit enter, this works for both W10 and W11.
