Missing Azure Recovery Services Vault

A backup retrieval process is underway for our server, but one of the two Azure Recovery Services (ARS) Vaults is completely missing, despite confirming the correct subscription ID.

What steps can be taken to address this issue? Is there a way to reach human technical assistance for further help?

    If an Azure Recovery Services (ARS) Vault is missing despite verifying the correct subscription, the issue may stem from accidental deletion, insufficient permissions, or a misconfigured filter in the Azure portal. First, check the "Deleted vaults" section under Recovery Services vaults to determine if the vault was soft-deleted and can be restored within the 14-day retention period. If not, audit the Azure Activity Log to trace deletion events or permission changes. Ensure your account has Reader or higher permissions on the vault and verify that no resource group or regional filters are hiding it. 

    If the vault remains untraceable, Microsoft’s Azure Support team can assist in investigating backend logs or potential subscription glitches. To escalate, open a support request in the Azure portal under Help + Support, selecting "Technical" for backup-related issues. For critical recovery scenarios, a Severity A (High) ticket ensures faster human intervention. While Microsoft cannot restore vaults beyond the soft-delete window, they may provide forensic insights or alternative recovery options. Always maintain offline records of vault credentials to mitigate such risks.
