Is it possible to create a disaster recovery from GCP to Azure

Yep - however, keep in mind that ASR requires either Hyper-V or VMware as the underlying platform. GCP does offer a VMware-as-a-Service solution (GCVE), which allows you to run native VMware workloads in Google Cloud. You could potentially use Azure Site Recovery (ASR) to replicate your Linux server to Azure (based on ASR support for VMware, provided the required configuration like mobility service installation and vSphere version compatibility are met). However, this setup would be complex and costly, as it involves maintaining VMware infrastructure in GCP just to enable ASR-based replication - which doesn't make sense in your circumstances. Instead, you should consider using tools like Rsync, Rclone, or CloudEndure (by AWS, but it supports cross-cloud replication) to sync data, or set up real-time replication using DRBD or Lsyncd for block/file-level syncing. You'd also need to regularly export VM images or create custom Azure-compatible images (e.g., using Packer) and script the provisioning in Azure (e.g., via Azure CLI or ARM templates) to ensure infrastructure consistency.

Thanks Marcin for your detailed response. You mentioned using VMware option while doing the ASR, in my scenario, I have a stand alone Linux server. Can VMware option still work? You also mentioned tools like rsync, rclone, cloudendure by AWS, can these tools work in GCP environment?
