In the computer's local group policy to set the application and system log security

  1. Select Start, select Run, type gpedit.msc, and then select OK.
  2. In the Group Policy Editor, expand the following folder tree under Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Event log Service.
  3. For the example of application eventlog, in the subfolder Application, double-click Configure log access, select Enable, type the SDDL string that you want for the log security, and then select OK.

But, in this registry path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Application\

    Hi RajKumar Ramasamy,

Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft Q&A.

My name is Hoang Phan, and I understand that you are having some concern related to Event log GPO.

Based on my research, the GPO setting "Configure log access" creates a registry key in a different location:

    Registry Key: HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\EventLog\Application

    Value Name: ChannelAccess

Refer to the GPO database for details: https://gpsearch.azurewebsites.net/#7466

I hope this information proves helpful. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need further clarification—I’ll be happy to assist 🙂
