Hello everyone,

we are currently deplyoing the Windows 11 24H2 Upgrade to about 1k PCs.
Some devices are recently rejecting the upgrade with this error: (ScanResult.xml)

<Programs>
<Program Name="Some Wallpaper Apps may be incompatible" Id="{3eb4353f-e9c5-44b4-97c6-a07df49c5803}" DefaultIcon="True">
<CompatibilityInfo BlockingType="Hard" StatusDetail="WarnUpgrade" Message="Your PC has an app that changes the Windows Desktop or Wallpaper and it may be incompatible with this version of Windows. This app may make unexpected changes to your desktop, may stop responding or not work as intended." Title="Some Wallpaper Apps may be incompatible"/>
<Link Target="https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=2311650" Value="Weitere Informationen"/>
<Action Name="Dismiss" Link="wsc:wica:_{3eb4353f-e9c5-44b4-97c6-a07df49c5803}" DisplayStyle="Link" ResolveState="NotRun"/>
</Program>

We think that bing wallpaper has something to do with it, but uninstalling the app does not fix this issue.

Found one thread on reddit with the same issue but without solution.

Any ideas on it?

Thank you and best regards.

    Hi Jdie-strama,

    As part of Windows 11 24H2 safeguard ID 52754008, Microsoft temporarily blocked installs on any PC with various wallpaper/customization apps (like Wallpaper Engine) to avoid UI issues—a precaution until app developers issued compatibility updates.

    Please try to perform a Clean Boot as Clean Boot disables third-party apps from starting with Windows:

    Press Windows + R, type msconfig

    Go to Services > Hide all Microsoft services > Disable all

    Go to Startup tab > Open Task Manager > Disable all items

    Restart your PC

    Try updating Windows again after this.
