Hi Kielly Godwin,
Thanks so much for reaching out. I completely understand how limiting it can feel when you're trying to do more with Excel on Android, especially if you're used to the flexibility of tools like Python and Anaconda. You're not alone in this, and I genuinely appreciate your patience and curiosity.
Here’s a breakdown of the current situation and some practical workarounds that might help you move forward with confidence:
Current Limitations in Excel for Android
- No native Python support: Excel on Android doesn’t currently support Python scripting or integration with Anaconda.
- No Office Scripts or advanced automation: These features are only available on desktop or web versions of Excel.
- Limited add-in support: Custom add-ins and external scripting environments aren’t supported on mobile.
Even though direct integration isn’t available, there are still ways to get the results you need:
1. Use Excel on the Web or Desktop
If you have access to a desktop or browser, Excel Online offers:
- Python in Excel (with a Microsoft 365 subscription)
- Office Scripts
- Power Query and Power Automate
2. Use Python Separately and Sync Your Data
You can still harness Python’s power by:
- Processing your data in Python (via Anaconda or any IDE)
- Exporting the results to a .csv or .xlsx file
- Opening that file in Excel on Android
This way, you get the best of both worlds, Python’s capabilities and mobile access to your results.
If none of the above solutions work, please let us know for further investigation. The initial response doesn't always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
I know this isn’t the most seamless experience, and I truly wish the mobile version offered more flexibility. But I hope these suggestions help you keep moving forward.
Thank you for your patience and understanding so far. We look forward to hearing from you.
Sincere
