How to solve the problem that the cursor disappears in Powerpoint even it is set to "visible"?

Hello,

I have a problem with Powerpoint (Professional Plus 2021). I have created a presentation. Within this presentation I inserted another Powerpoint presentation. For the slideshow it is important that the arrow is always visible. To ensure that I don't have to set the arrow on "visible" again and again when I restart the slideshow, I installed the add-on "Free PresentationPoint Slideshow". It has the function to set the arrow to visible by default. Generally it works. But when I start the inserted slideshow within the "main" presentation the arrow setting automatically switches from "visible" to "automatic" (in this setting the arrow disappears after some seconds). When I go back to the "main" presentation the "automatic" setting remains (within the inserted presentation the arrow is also set to visible by default).

Does anyone know a solution?

    Hello Adrian,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum. Please accept our warmest regards and sincerest hope that all is well despite the situation you find yourself in.

This seems like a tricky issue with PowerPoint's behavior when using the "Free PresentationPoint Slideshow" add-on. Here are some potential solutions and troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check Add-On Compatibility:
      • Ensure that the "Free PresentationPoint Slideshow" add-on is fully compatible with PowerPoint Professional Plus 2021. Sometimes, compatibility issues can cause unexpected behavior.
    2. Adjust Settings in Both Presentations:
      • Double-check the arrow visibility settings in both the main presentation and the inserted presentation. Ensure that the "visible" setting is applied consistently.
    3. Reinsert the Slideshow:
      • Try removing the inserted slideshow and reinserting it into the main presentation. This can sometimes resolve conflicts between settings.
    4. Update PowerPoint and Add-On:
      • Make sure PowerPoint is updated to the latest version. Similarly, check if there are updates available for the "Free PresentationPoint Slideshow" add-on.
    5. Test Without the Add-On:
      • Temporarily disable the add-on and test the behavior of the arrow settings. This can help determine if the issue is caused by the add-on itself.
    6. Contact Add-On Support:
      • Reach out to the support team for the "Free PresentationPoint Slideshow" add-on. They might have specific guidance or fixes for this issue.
    7. Use VBA Code:
      • If the issue persists, consider using VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) code to enforce the arrow visibility setting. A simple script can ensure the arrow remains visible throughout the slideshow.
