Move the mouse pointer to the right-hand edge of the navigation pane, It should change to a two-headed arrow.
Hold down the mouse pointer and drag to the right.

My MS Access has made my left column containing names on tables etc so narrow I cannot read the names of them. How to change this?

Thanks for the answer - but that doesn't solve my problem.
Why? Because that's how I normally do it. But this time I started a new blank Access database. And that vertical line, left of your red arrow and in the middle of the 2-way black arrow in your image is NOT showing the 2-way arrow when I hover above it. (On my old databases ACCESS the 2-way arrow is visible, but not here.)
See image (sorry for 2 words misspelling by mistake).
Weird! I'm sorry, I don't have an explanation or suggestion on how to correct that.
I’m confused since you state “I started a new blank Access database” however your screen capture shows many Access objects.
Does this happen with every new database you create?
