Hello!

Any ideas how in editor i can select and resize the base layer of the video. I have another layer on top of it, but every time when I select the base layer and try to start to move it or to resize it, the cursor selects the front layer instead.

Coulnd't find Climpchamp from the product list, so I just selected something else. Also Microsoft's own page telling that I could get CHAT support from Climpchamp by clicking HELP icon on Climpchamp, leads me only to Climpchamp website without any chat options. Why this needs to be so difficult.

    Hello Zabarracca,

Welcome to Microsoft community. It sounds like you're navigating some frustrating hurdles in your editing workflow—let's tackle this together. Regarding the issue in Clipchamp with the base layer: Adjusting the Base Layer in Clipchamp:

    • Lock the Top Layer: Clipchamp provides an option to lock layers, preventing unintended selection. Click the "Lock" icon (usually next to the layer name or timeline track) for the top/front layer. This way, you can freely select and manipulate the base layer without interference.
    • Reorder Layers Temporarily: Drag the top layer below the base layer in the timeline, make your adjustments to the base, and then return the layers to their original order.
    • Zoom Out or Use Precision Select: If layers are stacked closely, zoom out or use precision tools available in the editor to select the specific layer you need.

On Clipchamp Support: Regarding your attempt to access chat support through Microsoft's suggested page, that's definitely inconvenient. While Clipchamp has Help resources on their website, actual chat support may only be accessible for certain account types or through specific links. If you've encountered a loop where you’re redirected but can’t find chat options, it might be worth visiting Clipchamp’s https://help.clipchamp.com directly and searching for live assistance or contact details.Note: Before making any significant edits, save a duplicate of your project to ensure you don’t lose progress if something unexpected occurs. Clipchamp’s Help section also has FAQs that may cover similar editor issues—worth exploring briefly!Postscript: Video editing is already a meticulous task, and struggling with tools or confusing support pathways just adds to the frustration. It’s a testament to your patience and determination that you’re sticking with it. Hopefully, locking the layer or some of the tips above will smooth things out—and your edited video will shine like you intended! Let me know how it works out.Best Regards,
