Excel app on Android phone is not working. Things I've done:

  1. Force stop several times
  2. Cleared cache x2
  3. Cleared data x1
  4. Restarted phone x2
  5. Uninstalled and reinstalled excel app
  6. My subscription is on autopay and was just deducted so I'm current
  7. I've checked onedrive on laptop and phone, working fine.
  8. I checked spreadsheets on laptop, working fine

I pull up the app and I try to login with the same login I'm using here. If I'm lucky it sends me a code to sign in, then when I enter the code just loops around. If I'm not lucky it just loops around. Once in a blue moon it will say fetching your files then just loops around, doing nothing.

Not to state the obvious but I'm paying for this. And I need it for work.

    Hello dielectra,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are experiencing issues with Excel for Android and have tried many solutions.

I noticed that you haven't attempted any network-related troubleshooting yet, and this problem could also be a temporary issue caused by network or server fluctuations.

I recommend checking whether you have enabled VPN or other network tools. If so, please turn them off.

Please try switching to a different network, preferably from another service provider, to see if the issue persists.

If the problem remains after network troubleshooting, it might be an issue with the Excel for Android application. In that case, I suggest providing us with your phone's system version and the Excel app version details so I can escalate the issue. You can also report this problem through the feedback feature in any Office app—the more feedback we receive, the faster this issue can be resolved.

If you can't check the app version within Excel, please try finding it in your phone's system settings under the app list.

I hope this information helps. If you have any updates, feel free to let me know—I’ll be here to help.

    Best regards,

Ian | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

    Hello,

I do not have a vpn, I just have straight wifi and cell service on my phone. I use onedrive to share documents but that's irrelevant since I can't even get into the app. However onedrive is working fine, I've checked it. In fact, all other apps are working as they should.

    I just did this:

    1. Turned off wifi and ran straight cell service
    2. Tried my neighbors wifi

Neither worked, still the same issues. I'm not sure exactly what you need but hopefully these 2 screenshot are what you are looking for. I don’thave any other MS apps that I pay for.

It appears to be working now. Not sure what changed, but thank you.
