PPT crashes when exporting to MP4

PPT crashes when I export to MP4. Exporting to WMV is fine.

I've tried all the advice I found online:

  • Updated PPT365 and Windows 11 and graphics drivers.
  • Used in safe mode,
  • Disabled Add-ins,
  • Tested on a simple PPT
  • Checked available disk space - lots
  • Saving to desktiop rather than cloud
  • No complex animations or unusual content

It worked 5 days ago, now it crashes every time. Thoughts?

    Good day!

Welcome to Microsoft Community. Thank you for sharing your concern with us today and we hope that all is well. I'm sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing with PowerPoint crashing when exporting to MP4. Since you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, I recommend trying the following additional steps:

    1. Check for Windows updates: Make sure your Windows 11 operating system is up to date by checking for any pending updates in the Settings app.
    2. Repair Microsoft 365: You can try repairing your Microsoft 365 installation by going to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, selecting Microsoft 365, and choosing the option to repair the installation.
    3. Check for conflicting software: Sometimes third-party software can interfere with PowerPoint's export process. Try temporarily disabling any antivirus or security software running on your system and see if that helps.
    4. Test on a different user account: Create a new user account on your Windows 11 system and try exporting the PowerPoint presentation to MP4 from that account. This can help determine if the issue is specific to your user profile.

    Hi Fritz

Thank you for your reply - I liked your suggestions.

I have done all of these now ad I'm still getting the crashes every time I export to MP4.

    So frustrating.

the laptop Im workin on a good spec gaming machine that I have been using for PPT for over two years. i'm a professional PPT designer and on site Graphics Op, so I'm quite used the ways fof the program. I just happen to be in middle of a job that needs a lot of video export.

    Any more thoughts?
