I had the same problem and, on your advice, I uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft 365 on my phone and I can now edit documents again!

    Hello Catherine,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I suggest you try resetting and redownloading Word to see if the problem persists.

    1. Reset Word.

    • Make sure OneDrive is closed in the background
    • Open Settings.
    • Select Apps.
    • Find and tap Word.
    • Tap Storage, and then tap Clear Data and Clear Cache.
    • Open Word and sign in to see if the problem persists.

    2. Reinstall Word.

Press and hold the Word icon and click Uninstall, then download the latest version of the Word app from Google Play.

If we are still experiencing the same issue, we may need to determine if this is account related, try logging into account.microsoft.com with this account, is it logged in correctly?

Also, what account do you have. As a personal account that you created yourself or a school or work account provided by your organization.

If you have another Microsoft account, you can also test by logging in with a different account to see if you experience the same issue.

If we receive a response from you, we will provide further support.

    Best regards

    Thank you Ian

We reset Word and it did the trick - I can now edit Word documents. We uninstalled Excel and reinstalled it and that works now too.

    Regards

    Catherine
