Are you saying that Access itself won't start? Did you install full Access or the Access runtime?

Or, are you saying that opening an accdb in Access causes it to close?

Is there any error message prior to Access closing? If so, show us a screenshot of that error message.

I installed full Access.

After I opened Access 2013, the program asked me to choose between using the recommended settings, installing updates only, or asking me later. After I made a selection and clicked accept, the program closed by itself.

The program shuts down immediately no matter which of the three options is selected.

You could try reinstalling Access. Make sure you provide the appropriate license key during the installation.
