Hi all, I have taken over a spreadsheet from someone who left and although I understand the if formula there is something don't understand. It is a very simple formula which says if cell (A<0, "not done","done) however when I would expect to see not done or done in the cells in text the cell is completely empty but the formula works. How do you do that? There isn't any extra word on the formula which tells leave the cell blank.

Thanks

    • Check whether the font (text) color of that cell is the same as the fill (background) color.
    • Check the number format. A custom format such as ;;; (three semicolons) will hide all cell contents.
