Restrict editing of files in MS Teams Approval attachment

Hi,

I noticed it while using the MS Teams Approval App that, the original attachment provided for approval to manager can be edited after the Manager's approval.

In this case I am requesting that if there is any way a manager can restrict the editing of the approved attached file once the status is approved.

Thanks

Sayeed

    Dear Sayeed,

As an Independent Advisor and community user, I'll help you with your question.

At this point is not possible to change status from Edit to Read directly with the "Approval" app in Microsoft Teams, basically it's a limitation of the app.

By other hand, there is a another powerful app called "Power Automate" formerly "Microsoft Flow", there you can create your own Flow with approval process with connector between all Microsoft apps and external apps, there are a lot of templates, take a look at below link for further information:

    https://flow.microsoft.com/en-us/galleries/publ...

Find out in the Microsoft templates, probably one will useful for your purpose:

    Regards,

    Renzo.

    Thanks Renzo.

I think my question was not able to express my requirement clearly.

Lat me explain it a bit more. My expectation is once a approval request is approved by the approver, I want there should be a option that will not allow anybody to change the attached file of the approved request. Let me give an example:  I have submitted an expense report to my manager with a excel attachment and my manager has approved that. SO current status of my approval request is approved.

But the fact is currently I can still able to change the content of the attached excel file which has already approved.

But my expectation to the App is I need a way so that after approval given, no once should able to edit any content of the attached file.

If there is an way, please help me.

Yes, I totally understand you, but the problem is that "Approvals" app, doesn't has a native settings to change what you need, by default not allows to change permission after to approve a request, even in the Microsoft Teams admin center (take a look at screen-capture) , because of that I recommended to use Microsoft Flow / Power Automate in order to custom your own approving process.

By other hand, I suggest you to send your feedback to PG (product group) through the Microsoft Teams UserVoice, is the way to communicate with them, they always see ideas and suggestions from community users in order to improve the app.
    See for Approvals suggestion in UserVoice in following link;
