Application Gateway Migration to Zone Redundant Model Not Yet Reflected

Hi,

I've received the health advisory notice (Tracking ID: XXXXX) regarding the migration of Application Gateways from a regional deployment model to a Zone Redundant model. The advisory indicates that the migration should have completed by 15/07/2025 05:30:00.

However, as of now, the Application Gateway still shows no availability zone configuration in the Azure portal (the "Availability Zones" value remains blank).

Could you please advise:

  • Why the migration is not yet reflected on our resource ?
  • Is there any additional action required from our side ?
  • When can we expect the updated configuration to appear ?

    Hello $@chin

I understand that you need some clarification regarding migration in the application gateway zone redundant model.

    • Why is the migration not yet reflected on our resource?

To use availability zones, your deployment needs to be on the Standard v2 or WAF v2 SKU. Previous SKUs, such as Standard and WAF, do not support this feature. And I tested in my environment it is successfully showing zone. Check the below screen shot

And please let me know which SKU you are using?

Is there any additional action required from our side?

In most cases, you don't need to take any action during the migration process. Still, you may want to verify the following:

    • Ensure your deployment was set up correctly based on the migration guide.

If the migration is not yet visible on your profile, please wait a few more days and it should appear.

Hope the above answer helps! Please let us know do you have any further queries.
