Hello MS specialists!
We're getting ready to upgrade our Application Gateways V1 to V2, but are trying to be cost conscious when doing it. The fact is the Standard SKU of the V2 is much more expensive (by 10 times) than the Small SKU or the V1 that's been quite sufficient for our needs. There is a Basic SKU of the V2, but it does not support redundancy (that we need absolutely), as it looks. There is no way to specify the number of instances for a Basic SKU:

Unlike the Standard SKU that lets specify the number of instances:

At the same time, the "Save Costs with Basic SKU Application Gateway..." article says that the Basic SKU does support the zone redundancy, while claiming its SLA to be just 99.9% vs. 99.95% of the Standard SKU. It is a bit confusing, unless the availability of a Basic Gateway is going to be artificially "throttled". :)
Dear MS specialists, would you please clarify the above? Is the Basic SKU of the Application Gateway V2 "truly redundant"? What is its actual SLA? Can we safely use it for a low volume production environment?
(I've read a discussion on MS Learn that seems to hint on the Basic SKU being "redundant": a post author, DarylNZ has been billed for 2 instances for a Basic SKU:

Too bad it's also been very expensive. That raises the question of the Basic SKU being cost-efficient indeed. It would be great if MS could provide a cost-efficient SKU for a low volume production environment.)
Thank you!
