Stop refreshing tabs after switching tabs

When I open a new tab to view a page and then switch back to the previous tab to continue browsing there where I left off it refreshes the tab and on some websites (i.e. facebook) it gives completely different results. This is extremely annoying, because I miss seeing the rest of the content that had been there. Is there a way to stop this? If not, then, there should be. I am on a laptop using the web version of Edge.

Hi! Thanks for writing. I am so happy to offer you any needed assistance today.

I suggest that you turn off the Sleeping tabs, on Edge go to settings then system. From there scroll down to Optimize Performance. Under it, you should see an option for

"Save resources with sleeping tabs" and "Fade sleeping tabs when inactive", turn if bothh off. Then save/close the browser then restart it back again.

I don't see 'optimize performance' under settings, I see 'system and performance', when I click on that I click on 'performance' and from there the 'save resources with sleeping tabs' is already off and there is no option for 'fade sleeping tabs when inactive' at all. They are all turned off anyway, except way at the top that says 'enable efficiency mode.'
