Hello Maths, I am Henry and I want to help you with this issue
Follow these steps precisely:
- In Hyper-V Manager, select your Windows 11 VM.
- Right-click it and choose Start. If it's already running, choose Reset.
- Get ready to act quickly.
- As soon as the black VM window appears, click your mouse pointer directly inside the black window. This gives keyboard focus to the virtual machine.
- Now, when the text "Press any key to boot from cd or dvd..." appears, immediately press any key on your keyboard (the spacebar is a good choice).
If you are sure you are pressing a key in time and it's still failing, you need to check that your VM meets the strict requirements for Windows 11.
- Shut down the virtual machine completely (Turn Off).
- In Hyper-V Manager, right-click the VM and choose Settings.
- Check the VM Generation:
- In the left pane, click on Hardware. At the top, it will say "Generation 1" or "Generation 2".
- Windows 11 requires a Generation 2 VM. If you created a Generation 1 VM, you will need to delete it and create a new one, making sure to select Generation 2 during the setup wizard.
- Check Security Settings (for Generation 2 VMs):
- In the VM settings, click on the Security tab on the left.
- Make sure that "Enable Secure Boot" is checked.
- Make sure that "Enable Trusted Platform Module" (TPM) is checked.
- Check Memory:
- Click on the Memory tab. Ensure you have allocated at least 4096 MB (4 GB) of RAM.
Following these steps should resolve the issue and allow you to begin the Windows 11 installation.
