Azure Migrate hash doesn't match documentation

After creating a project and project key for Azure Migrate, I downloaded the appliance from the project page and checked the hash as outlined in the documentation here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/migrate/how-to-set-up-appliance-physical

The hash does not match what's listed in the documentation.

I re-downloaded the Azure Migrate installer from the document listed above instead of the project, and the hash appears to be the same on both. I do see that someone else had the same issue in 2024: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1855477/azure-migrate-hash-value-dont-match-for-the-hyper

This was also posted on github at some point, but the link now returns a 404.

C:\Users\REDACTED\Desktop>certutil -hashfile .\AzureMigrateInstaller.zip SHA256
SHA256 hash of .\AzureMigrateInstaller.zip:

C:\Users\REDACTED\Desktop>certutil -hashfile .\AzureMigrateInstaller2.zip SHA256
SHA256 hash of .\AzureMigrateInstaller2.zip:
c88e90691ebf87166243dafb2d3a18dd34066b4624595ee3f9b4fbe6885e81da <- From documentation

My gut tells me that the documentation needs to be updated, but is there any way to confirm this hash is correct first? Has anyone else run into this? Any other thoughts?

    Hello Ponce Deleon,

The document you referred to is from an earlier release dated 04/23/2025, which is why the hash value you attempted to verify does not match. The hash value has since been updated in the latest release dated 06/24/2025.

    Latest Release for Your Reference:

To ensure accurate validation, please refer to the updated documentation and verify the hash value accordingly. The discrepancy you're observing—where the same hash value appears on another machine—is expected due to this update

    Hi Ponce Deleon

    The latest hash number is

    07783A31D1E66BE963349B5553DC1F1E94C70AA149E11AC7D8914F4076480731

If it matches with the one which you downloaded then you are good.

Yes, you are correct may documentation not updated when you are downloaded from project maybe it is reference to the old hash.

Please let me know if you face any challenge here, I can help you to resolve this issue further
