    Hello,Kathy Costlow

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

I noticed that your question mentions StartRpcnet - RPCNET and a service that appears to not be running. However, based on the information provided, we are currently unable to determine which product created this service in your system. To the best of our knowledge, terms like AbtPaaS, StartRpcnet, and RPCNET are not standard components of Windows or Microsoft services.

To better assist you, could you please help clarify the following:

    1. Is this related to a specific application, a third-party service, or a custom internal tool?
    2. Where do you see this message? Is it from Task Manager, the Services window, or elsewhere?
    3. What is the exact error or message when you try to start the service (e.g., permission-related errors)? Could you share a screenshot or the full context?
    4. Does this message affect your system or any application functionality?

In many cases, if a service fails to start, you can try stopping and restarting it manually, or disabling and re-enabling it. If there is no clear error message, you might try starting the service via command line to get more detailed output. If this is related to a specific application, reinstalling the software may help redeploy the service correctly.

We look forward to your clarification so we can better assist you.

    Best wishes,

    Kathy Costlow hi,

open up that command prompt as admin and type this like a boss

    net start rpcnet

if it gives u attitude and says 'service name invalid' then we gotta dig deeper ) check if the service even exists with

    sc query rpcnet

if its not there oh mon dieu )) might need to reinstall whatever app uses it. check the vendor docs cause this service is often tied to specific software like abtpaas or some other fancy tool )

also worth poking around in services.msc )) just hit windows key + r and type that in. look for rpcnet in the list. if u see it but its stopped right click and start it like ur starting a tiny french car )

sometimes windows gets confused after updates. a simple reboot can work wonders like a baguette fresh from oven ) and dont forget to check event viewer for clues )) just type eventvwr in run box and look under windows logs then application. might show why its being stubborn )

might need to contact abtpaas support since its their service playing hide and seek. their docs probably have specific steps for this very situation )

merci for bringing this to q&a )) hope we get u fixed up faster

    Best regards,

    Alex
