Minimize, Maximise and Exit all now hiding in Firefox.

I asked this in the Mozilla help section and someone there sugested I ask here too as they couldn't find an answer.

I live with Firefix always in full screen. I Don't like seeing any bars or buttons of any kind.

Before the latest update, when I moved my mouse to the top of the screen my tabs popped down and in the top right corner was the standard icons for "minimize" "maximize" and "exit".

With the latest update the tabs are there but the 3 buttons have gone.

If I exit full screen (F11) then they are there again, but I dont want to have to exit full screen every time I change between programes which I do every few mins. I'd be popping pages in and out of full screen constantly!

How do I get the buttons back all the time?

Tha problem started with the latest update. I'm using windows 7 on a laptop so I know my system is now a little old so might have errors with being full suported. I have already tried logging out of my account and running in safemode. Neither helped. I'm also not a technically minded person so I haven't done anything fancy or tried to change or edit any code.

I use Firefox and I just checked and what you are saying does happen.

And I checked on other Windows operating systems.

You can put your mouse cursor in the upper right corner and toggle the F11 key to see it happening

And as Firefox is not a Microsoft Product, I suggest that you continue asking at their forums.

Yeah I figured it was a Mozilla issue rather than a microsoft one thats why I started there. Did it happen with the other OS's? Or is it 7 spesific since I can't check that myself? Would be helpful information to provide over there.

It's just annoying because it didn't happen immediately before the update so thats clearly the trigger.

If you re-read what I wrote:

I'm on Firefox 95.0 Windows 10 1080p and the window option buttons are there in Firefox fullscreen (F11 key).

It absolutely should be a Firefox thing. The application controls the title bar, drawing of the application window on the screen, etc. Though the OS could force changes to it. And its possible for the OS installation to have an issue that can break things. But, if its only Firefox then they probably did something that affects it only at certain times (which is something they have to do as things change to maintain backwards compat).

Could look at the Firefox code and that will say what's going on. I won't here for this. No desire.

I'm on Linux (not Windows), and those buttons have been missing for me too in fullscreen, since a Firefox update maybe a month or two back. It's definitely a change the Firefox devs made.

I still haven't found an about:config setting to bring them back. But you can hit F11 again to exit fullscreen. Or right-click on the tab bar > Exit Full Screen Mode.
