Earlier today I started having issues while working in Google Docs where I kept receiving a message stating "Trying to Connect". Then after some time the page would reload and connect but it kept "Trying to connect" intermittently. Then I began having issues connecting to other Google services as well and now when I go to www.google.com, I receive the message below. This is happening with both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browser. I can connect to other websites just fine.

Hmmm… can't reach this page

The connection was reset.

Try:

  • Checking the connection
  • Checking the proxy and the firewall
  • Running Windows Network Diagnostics ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

Check your Internet connection Check your network cables, modem, and routers. Allow Microsoft Edge to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings. If it's already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list, and adding it again.

If you use a proxy server:Check your proxy settings. You might need to ask your organization if the proxy server is working. If you don't think you should be using a proxy server, go to Settings > System > Open your computer's proxy settings

You have posted to the XP forums.

    1. Edge is not for XP.
    2. Google ended support for XP long ago.
