To make sure the mouse is working fine, kindly try connecting it to another PC. If the mouse did not work, it means the issue is from the mouse.
If the mouse worked properly, it means the issue is from your computer.
1-Try to connect it to another USB port.
2-If it is a wireless mouse, make sure it's connected properly (make sure its battery is new).
3-Check for any driver updates for your mouse. You can usually find these on the manufacturer's website.
