Microsoft Edge, unable to select text in PDFs

So we use a CRM that can produce PDFs for invoices that is selected. Microsoft Edge is my default PDF viewer. When the PDF(s) are opened in the browser I can do all the annotations available with Microsoft Edge but I cannot select the text. Sometimes I need to select a portion, like a message or warning or expiration message & paste it else where.

Now if I take that same PDF, save it locally & re-open it in the browser, I can highlight the text. Unfortunately I couldn't really figure out why that would be happening.

I wanted to check if this was isolated to the CRM but I didn't have another platform that can open PDFs in the browser from the platform to test with. I didn't attempt to do this from OneDrive it did work but the way the PDF is produced it may have not been the same.

Any suggestions with what that might be?

I'm running Microsoft Edge Version 126.0.2592.87 (Official build) (64-bit)
