    Hello, sylvanExit.

We appreciate you posting in Microsoft community.

I noticed that your grouped tabs are missing.

I'm glad to have the opportunity to help you with this issue.

I'm as used to using Edge grouped tabs as you are to sorting resources and organizing my work, so I think I can fully understand how all of the grouped tabs disappearing would be a disaster.

The first thing you can try is to press Ctrl + Shift + T to reopen the closed pages, and if that doesn't work, then it's almost impossible to get them back.

In general, restarting Edge after you close it normally should load all grouped tabs, which may result in the loss of unsaved tabs and groupings if Edge crashes or shuts down unexpectedly while you're using it.

Even though you mentioned that there are no pending updates, Edge may have done an automatic update in the background and reset some settings or status after the update.

Overall, grouped tabs may not be reliable enough for some of the more frequently visited pages and tasks, and I'd rather recommend that you pin the pages (right-click on a tab and select Fixed Tabs) or add them to your favorites for important and frequently visited pages.

I sincerely hope this cuts down on some of the lost pages for you.

    Best Regards.

Thanks Jeffrey for your quick response, your consolations and suggestions. Ctrl + Shift + T did not work for me unfortunately, but I'll keep that in my tool belt for future reference. And yes, it's fun to try the new Edge toys, but will go back to favorites for safe keeping.

I also lost my tab groups after updating Edge (just now in the last half hour) and they are also missing from history. I can restore individual tabs from history but not the groups and don't seem to have the sites in history that would have been in the group. Even being able to see the sites listed separately, I'd be able to restore them.

Worst of all I swear the update message warned about saving any session data before updating so I sent everything to onetab forgetting to manually expand the groups first so they'd be properly saved. Pressed update before verifying the tabs were saved and here we are. I believe I have the update pending on another PC and will try to recreate the missing groups tomorrow.

This is the second time I've lost data using Microsoft's own platforms. First Onedrive now Edge. I have been a Windows lifer but Windows 11 is worse than Vista or NT and gets none of the deserved scrutiny.

(Edit: I appreciate Jeffrey's sincerity about not using these experimental features.)
