Unable to install latest Microsoft Edge Dev and Canary channel builds on Windows 7 SP1

Upon an attempted install of either Edge Dev or Edge Canary, it gets to the install part and then abruptly stops with the following message:

Microsoft Edge Installer has stopped working

Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.

When I view the problem details, the following shows up:

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH

Application Name: setup.exe_Microsoft Edge Installer

Application Version: 93.0.961.7

Application Timestamp: 61038c50

Fault Module Name: KERNELBASE.dll

Checking online for a solution does nothing.

After closing the prompt, the installer displays the following error:

Install error 0xc06d007f

Experts love asking for details, so here's some details.

My network connection and network adapter settings are fine.

I have allowed both installers through Windows Firewall.

The Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) is turned on.

BITS's startup type is set to "Automatic (Delayed Start)".

I've restarted the BITS service.

I cannot "reinstall" Microsoft Edge if it hasn't been installed.

I've started both of them as administrators.

I've redownloaded both of them from the same website (microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-us/download).

I've tried downloading them from the English UK site (microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-gb/download).

I've installed Edge Beta from the same site (the main page, not the download part) with no issues.

They are the latest builds at the time of this post's release.

Do you have the same problem with the Current Release of Microsoft Edge?

In case you have any extensions in the Microsoft Edge, try to disable them.

You must be mistaken. I haven't installed either Canary nor Dev. Beta and CR, both installed correctly, are working fine.

Both builds are the latest ones from the microsoftedgeinsider.com website.

It is a problem with the installer.

Try run Windows Update and download and install all updates for Windows and restart your PC.

Then run the installer and see if the problem persist?

You may open a working copy of the Microsoft Edge and then send a feedback and explain this is a problem with Microsoft Edge installation in Canary and Dev and you may include screenshots too.
