Ever since I uninstalled my wifi network adapter for it to reinstall, my wifi keeps disappearing. Each time I must click Windows X and run command and go into services.msc to "restart" my wifi and wlan. Is there a permanent fix so I don't have to "restarting" my wifi or wlan again.

    Hi, Theresa Palacios

Welcome to the community, regarding your feedback that the wifi signal often cuts out and you need to reconnect to the wifi, this may be a problem with the network card driver. I will try my best to assist you. You can try the following methods:

    1. Install the official Surface driver package, all Surface model driver package URL: Download drivers and firmware for Surface - Microsoft Support (System version query: Start menu - Settings - System - About - Windows specifications - Version) to download the corresponding driver package.
    2. To run the Diagnostic Repair Tool, trouble click here: Fix common Surface problems using the Surface app and Surface Diagnostic Toolkit - Microsoft Support

I hope the above information can help you. If my understanding is wrong, please point it out to me so that I can assist you better.

    Hi Huon

No i have yet to try. I will try this weekend. I use this laptop for my work which is not a company issue laptop and we are a very small company and do not have IT.

I followed the instructions and whenever I perform a network restart or any update, the screen shot shows the WIFI goes missing. I therefore need to go and right click the Start button to open the WInX Menu, select run, type services.msc in the run box which opens the Windows Service Manager. I then do to Wlan Autoconfig and press start. and or Wifi Direct Services Connection Manager Service and press start.
