Hi Timothy, go to Windows>Settings>Accounts>Family and Other Users>Click on your Wife's Account>Change Account type.

    Hi Timothy Bennett

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum. Thanks for reaching out and sharing your concern.

Based on my research and testing, there are two common scenarios depending on what you’re trying to update, whether you're looking to give your wife administrator access on your personal computer or within Microsoft 365, please refer to the following steps:

Scenario 1: If you're referring to your personal computer and want to make your wife the administrator on a Windows PC

    • Press Windows + I to open Settings > Accounts > Other users
    • If your wife’s account isn’t listed yet: Under Add other user > select Add account > follow the instructions to create her user profile.
    • Once her account is listed, click on it and select Change account type > Choose Administrator from the dropdown > click OK.

Scenario 2: If you're referring to Microsoft 365 for Business and want to assign your wife as an administrator

    • Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center with your current global admin account.
    • Select Users > Active users
    • If your wife doesn’t have an account yet: click Add a user and complete the required details.User's image
    • Then click on her account > Under Roles click Manage roles > Choose the appropriate admin role (e.g., Global Administrator) > Save changesUser's image

    Just a quick reminder:

    • The Global Administrator role has full access to your Microsoft 365 environment. It should only be assigned to trusted individuals, and it's best to keep at least one backup Global Admin (such as yourself) for recovery or emergency situations.

I truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Hope the details provided will assist you effectively.
