Deleting Azure peering is not an option after I deleted Microsoft peering

Deleting Azure peering is not an option after I deleted Microsoft peering so I am unable to delete the Express route. I contact Megaport support, who I work for, and they can nto delete peering.

Before deleting the Azure private peering, ensure all virtual network connections and any associated ExpressRoute Global Reach connections are disconnected. This step is crucial because Azure requires no dependencies before allowing deletion.

Use the Azure Portal:

Go to your ExpressRoute circuit in the Azure portal.

Click on Peerings.

Select the peering you wish to delete (Azure private peering in your case).

Click on Delete.

If it fails, please share a screenshot of the error you encounter while deleting the time.

If you're comfortable using PowerShell, you can use the following command to remove the peering:

Remove-AzExpressRouteCircuitPeeringConfig -Name "AzurePrivatePeering" -ExpressRouteCircuit $ckt Set-AzExpressRouteCircuit -ExpressRouteCircuit $ckt

Ensure to replace $ckt with your specific ExpressRoute circuit variable.

Make sure your Azure user role has the necessary permissions to delete the peering configurations.

There can sometimes be a slight delay in Azure for changes to take effect. If you recently deleted the Microsoft peering, wait a bit and then check if the Azure private peering option to delete becomes available.

The fix was patience. Private peering took about an hour to delete after I deleted Microsoft peering.

Peering needs to disabled before you cancel the ER on the Partner side.
