I am about to upgrade Basic Public IP Address to Standard SKU associated with Basic SKU VPN Gateway in Azure. From its official guide: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/vpn-gateway/basic-public-ip-migrate-howto , I can only find it's working for gateway SKUs VpnGw 1-5 for active-passive gateways (not active-active). As our current VPN Gateway is Basic SKU, which is not VpnGW1-5, can it also be upgraded by using this migration option?

    Hi Luke,

They haven't released migration approach for Basic SKU VPN Gateway yet. They are supposed to make announcement by June 30th. You can't use the approach described in that article since it doesn't apply to Basic SKU.

    Hi @Luke ,

the official information from Microsoft: Is the VPN Gateway Basic SKU retiring?

Currently, the VPN Gateway Basic SKU supports only the Basic SKU public IP address resource (which is on a path to retirement). We're working on adding support for the Standard SKU public IP address resource to the VPN Gateway Basic SKU.
