Hello,

I can't find Canada Central in the list of Region when creating an Azure Maps Account.

Please advise.

Agree with Andreas Baumgarten's pointers on limited support of Azure Maps in few regions.

Hi @Asma Harbi ,

based on the Product Availability by Region page from Microsoft Azure Maps isn't available in the region Canada Central.

Azure Maps is available in this US regions:

Currently located in India, when I try to create a resource for Azure Maps, I get a policy assignment error telling me "You can create resources in the following regions centralindia, uaenorth, southeastasia, austriaeast, malaysiawest only."
But none of these locations are available for Azure Maps .

I have tried to access https://aka.ms/regionOptimization
But sign in responds with "cannot access the application '00000003-0000-0ff1-ce00-000000000000' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first."

Let me know if I'm missing something.

Please ask your admin to create a policy exemption for a certain resource group.

It is supported only in below regions only (global routing as Rbrunditt mentioned)

That selection doesn't really matter unless you are in the EU and want to lock down your requests to the EU. The region selection is just where Azure Maps is deployed. Unlike other Azure Services, a copy of Azure Maps is not deployed to your subscription as it's a live global service that is constantly updated. The region selection doesn't really matter as anyone using Azure Maps will likely have their request routed to the nearest Azure data center via a load balancer.

Azure Maps can be used from all countries but China and South Korea.
