The information and screenshots on the page "Classify and protect sensitive information" (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/modules/microsoft-cloud-app-security/classify-protect-sensitive-information) seem quite stale. The AIP add-on in the Microsoft Defender portal goes to an Error page and the documentation here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/information-protection/what-is-information-protection says the add-in is retired. Also within Microsoft Defender, the section is now called Cloud apps and no longer Cloud App Security (this change has been a while ago) and all the blades shown in the screenshot are managed within Cloud apps but under the Settings blade.

Microsoft Security | Microsoft Defender | Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps

    Hi Anita Okoro,

No, the Azure Information Protection (AIP) add-in for Microsoft Defender no longer exists. It has been retired and replaced by built-in labeling capabilities within Microsoft 365 apps and service

Recommended - Microsoft Purview Information Protection for unified label management and Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps for cloud-based data protection and policy enforcement.

Refer: Retirement notification for the Azure Information Protection Unified Labeling add-in for Office

Also, take a look at this question I came across during my research—it’s quite similar to yours.

Azure Information Protection retiring in April 2024
