What does the routing-weight parameter do when configuring an Azure Virtual WAN VPN Connection?

When configuring a VPN Gateway connection, either via Azure CLI, Bicep, or Terraform, it is possible to configure the routing weight. I have not found any documentation as to what this does?

I was hoping that it would allow me to configure a preferred connection when I have multiple connections to the same site configure with BGP.

Yes, you can configure routing weight in the VPN Gateway via Azure CLI.

@Henry Gelderbloem routing weight will change which path the Virtual Hub router will prefer for the VPN connections. The weight determines the preference for the route; higher weights are preferred over lower weights.

I would ensure that you test this out in a non prod environment first to ensure that the traffic routes the way your are expecting it to before pushing into prod
