I'm trying to setup a 2-node WFC with S2D. My disks show as mediatype unspecified. When I run the Set-PhysicalDisk command to set the disks to SSD, this works. But after a restart, the mediatype returns to 'Unspecified'.

I'm using Windows Server 2019 Datacenter on VMware vSphere 6.7.

How can I get this change to hold even after a restart?

    Hi,

I noticed we use VMWare, then do we connect the pass-through disks to the VMs?

As far as I know, the MediaType should be recognized automatically, if we used pass-through disks, please check if it is supported to connected the SSD physical disk to VMWare VM directly.

    Best Regards,
    Anne

While you change the MediaType, it switches back after restart.

But if the disks are added to the pool, it remains like that after restart..

Once you add the disk to StorageSpaces, it remains like that.
