Application Insights Issue - One of our application services not showing on our Application Map.

1. Use a Supported SDK : Even if your current apps don’t reference an SDK, using an officially supported Application Insights SDK is crucial for proper telemetry correlation and full Application Map functionality. 2. Configure Cloud Role Name Correctly : Make sure the cloud role name is properly set for your Application Service. This helps Application Insights identify and relate components correctly on the map. Guidance on setting the cloud role name is available here.
3. Refresh Application Map Components : The Application Map may not immediately reflect recent changes. Use the Update map components button in the portal to refresh the view and see if your service appears.
4. Verify Dependency Tracking : Ensure that your Application Service’s dependencies are being auto-collected. If some dependencies aren’t detected automatically, you’ll need to instrument manual tracking with calls like trackDependency. More on dependency collection is explained here. 5. Check the Time Range : Sometimes your service won’t show up if no telemetry was generated during the selected time range. Try expanding the time range in the Application Map to include earlier periods when calls were definitely made.
6. Validate Environment and Configuration : Confirm that your environment and Application Insights configuration are correct. Misconfigurations or network restrictions can prevent data from flowing to Application Insights, causing your app not to appear on the map.

Also please share us the below asked details:

a. Can you confirm if the Application Service is making any telemetry calls?

b. Is your Application Service correctly linked to an Application Insights resource?

Double-check the Application Insights connection string or instrumentation key is configured in your App Service settings (APPLICATIONINSIGHTS_CONNECTION_STRING or APPINSIGHTS_INSTRUMENTATIONKEY in app settings). Even without SDK usage, the App Service platform can send some telemetry if this is set.
